Comments

When visitors leave comments on our portal, we collect the data presented in the comment form, as well as the visitor's IP address and the browser's user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymous string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to verify that you are using it. The privacy policy for the Gravatar service is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment has been approved, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Images

If you upload images to our web portal, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Website visitors can download and extract any location data from the images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our portal, you can choose to save your name, email address and web portal in cookies. These are for your convenience, so you don't have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.

When you log in, we also set various cookies to save your login information and your screen display options. Sign-in cookies last for two days and screen options cookies last for one year. If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie does not include any personal data and simply indicates the publication ID of the article you have just edited. Expires after 1 day.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other web portals behaves exactly the same as if the visitor had visited the other web portal.

How long we keep your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so that we can automatically acknowledge and approve any subsequent comments, rather than keeping them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our web portal (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except that they cannot change their username). Web portal administrators can also view and edit this information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we delete any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data that we are required to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.
