The signatories undertake, first and foremost, to respect the principles enshrined in the ICH Convention and express their commitment to safeguarding the Madeira Wine Traditions.
The Charter for the Safeguarding of Madeira Wine Traditions was publicly presented and discussed on 14 December 2024, during the meeting "Viticulture and Madeira Wine Traditions", held at the Civic Centre in Estreito de Câmara de Lobos.
The more signatories the Charter for Safeguarding has, the stronger the application for including Madeira Wine Traditions on the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage will be (see why).
