This includes <strong>informed consent<\/strong>, <strong>oral testimonies<\/strong>, and <strong>collaboration in the preparation of the nomination dossier<\/strong>. A total of <strong>72 audio interviews<\/strong> were conducted with members of the Madeira wine community. In parallel, public events and media outreach activities were organised to raise <strong>public awareness<\/strong> and promote <strong>community engagement<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">This case demonstrates how a <strong>community-centred approach<\/strong> can contribute to the <strong>safeguarding of living heritage<\/strong>, while also <strong>empowering those who keep it alive<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Invited communication<\/strong> at the <strong>UNESCO ICH Evaluation Conference and International Stockfish Heritage Meeting<\/strong>, in <strong>Finnmark<\/strong>, from <strong>12 to 16 June 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"526\" height=\"143\" src=\"https:\/\/vinhomadeira.web.uma.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/logos-mehamn-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1367\" style=\"width:384px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The <strong>UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Evaluation Conference<\/strong> and the <strong>International Stockfish Heritage Meeting<\/strong> will take place from <strong>12 to 16 June 2025<\/strong>, in the breathtaking <strong>Nordkyn Peninsula<\/strong>, in <strong>Finnmark, Norway<\/strong>. Organised by <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/Bivdu.no\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"Bivdu.no\" target=\"_self\">Bivdu.no<\/a><\/strong>, in partnership with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/visitnordkyn.com\/\" target=\"_self\">Visit Nordkyn<\/a><\/strong>, this gathering brings together experts, cultural organisations, chefs, academics, policymakers, and traditional producers from around the world to explore and celebrate the <strong>cultural value of stockfish traditions<\/strong> within the broader framework of UNESCO-recognised intangible heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Held in <strong>Mehamn<\/strong>, the event combines <strong>conference sessions<\/strong>, <strong>cultural exchanges<\/strong>, and <strong>field visits<\/strong>. Key topics include the <strong>UNESCO nomination process<\/strong>, <strong>sustainable resource management<\/strong>, <strong>S\u00e1mi cultural perspectives<\/strong>, and <strong>international collaborations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The conference will also highlight <strong>examples of community-driven nominations<\/strong>, such as the case of the <strong>Madeira wine traditions<\/strong> and the <strong>German stockfish initiative<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Under the mediation of renowned academic <strong>Prof. Carl W.
