During this time, he was commissioned by the Ministry of Culture to conduct a dozen ethnographic surveys focusing on levadas (irrigation channels), water mills, stone pavements, and other vernacular structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has conducted research on the Mediterranean diet, Alentejo Talha wine, cod and stockfish, as well as the traditions surrounding Madeira wine, couscous, and alfenim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has conducted research in the following areas: anthroponymy, lexicon and terminology, sugar culture in the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, migrations and mobilities, Madeiran regionalisms, regional traditions, ethnolinguistic tourism, and intangible cultural heritage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
